Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 29, 2026
I Checked is an offline checklist app. This policy explains, in plain language, what the app and this website do — and, more importantly, what they don't do.
The short version
I Checked does not create an account for you, does not run advertising or analytics inside the app, and does not transmit your checklists, history, or settings to us or to any third party. Everything you create stays on your device unless you personally choose to export or share it.
Information stored on your device
The app stores the following locally, using your device's own storage:
- Checklist names, items, icons, and emoji you create;
- Completion history, including timestamps and durations;
- Optional reminder schedules attached to a checklist;
- Language, theme, and behavior preferences (haptics, auto-advance);
- Whether you've completed the first-run introduction.
None of this is sent to a server, because the app doesn't operate one. Scheduled reminder notifications are handled entirely by your device's operating system.
Backup files
You may export a backup of your data as a JSON file, and later import it to restore or transfer that data. This export is initiated by you, stored where you choose (locally or via your device's own share sheet), and is never uploaded by the app itself. You are responsible for keeping that file secure.
This website
This website does not use cookies, analytics, advertising scripts, or externally hosted fonts. If you contact us by email, we receive whatever your email includes and use it only to respond to you.
What the app can and cannot verify
I Checked records that you confirmed an item. It cannot detect, sense, or guarantee the actual physical state of a door, appliance, utility, vehicle, or home. Treat every completed check as your own confirmation, not as a system-verified fact.
Your choices and control
You can delete an individual checklist or history record, clear your entire history, or remove the app at any time — all from within Settings or your device's own app management. Deleting the app removes its locally stored data, subject to any device or cloud backups your operating system may keep on its own.
Children's privacy
I Checked does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information at all.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
